About This Guide
Tokyo to Nikko is an independent travel guide to one trip: a day in Nikko from Tokyo. It is not the official website of Nikko Toshogu or of any shrine, temple, railway, bus company or tour operator.
Who we are
A small independent editorial team that builds focused travel guides. We are not a travel agency and we do not sell tickets. Where we recommend a tour, you book it with GetYourGuide or Viator, and we may earn a commission (see our affiliate disclosure).
How we collect and check facts
- Every price, opening hour and travel time on this site comes from one data file, and every entry in it has a source link and the date we read it. Pages pull the numbers from that file, so the same fare never shows two different values.
- We use official sources first: the shrines and temples, Tobu Railway, JR East, the Kegon Falls elevator and Lake Chuzenji cruise operators, Nikko's tourism offices and UNESCO. Where an official page does not publish a figure (the JR fare from Tokyo to Nikko), we say which other source we used.
- Tour prices, ratings and review counts are read from the public tour pages on GetYourGuide and Viator, with the date. They change often, and the partner page always shows the current price.
- We do not invent experiences or reviews.
